My heart is so full, I think it might just explode.
This Christmas was my first one as a Mommy. It is so hard for me to put into words how much having this baby boy has changed me. I’ve said it so many times I know, but having him is the single greatest thing I’ve ever done in my life. So imagine how exciting it was for me, to celebrate my absolute favorite holiday, with my precious sweet boy. It really does not get any better than this!
JR and I had so much fun Christmas shopping for Bubby. We are on a shoestring budget, and have been since we made the decision for me to stay at home with the baby, but we saved our pennies and planned our budget for December accordingly. We are so thankful to be able to give Aidan so many nice things!
Christmas morning was amazing. I made Red Velvet Pancakes for breakfast (Thank you Pinterest !) We invited family to come over, eat breakfast and open presents with us. Aidan was very sleepy and did not want to wake up yet!
We took our time opening presents with Aidan. It’s very easy for an 8 month old to get overstimulated! He had a ball though, and so did we.
We spent the rest of the day eating and visiting with family. First at my grandmother’s house on the Farm, then over at my Dad’s and Rose’s. JR and I are overwhelmed at the generosity of our family. They got Aidan so MANY MANY toys AND clothes. He is one loved kid. They went above and beyond for me and JR too. I can’t begin to say how thankful and blessed we are. I have the best family on earth, hands down. My Dad and Rose are just ridiculously kind gift getters. I was expressing my thanks (again) to her on the phone yesterday for everything she and Dad got for us. Her reply? “We could have kept going….. we just ran out of time.” Yup, they are just that awesome.
Oh, and what did my Hubby and Santa Claus get me for Christmas? Only something I’ve been wanting BAD for a long long time.
Sounds absolutely wonderful and swoon-worthy! Love!
It really was so wonderful! I will never forget it. 🙂
Looks like a great Christmas!
My daughter was eight months old for her first Christmas too!
This year she was still a bit confused but enjoyed unwrapping.
It just keeps getting better.
Aww she sounds so sweet! My niece is 3 now and my sister says every Christmas just gets better and better! We have so much to look forward too. 🙂
The first Christmas with baby is probably more fun for mom and dad than child. Glad you had such a wonderful, family day.
You’re probably right! Hubby and I were eating up every minute of it. Aidan could have blown off the whole thing to go take a nap on his Pappy’s lap. The next day was more fun for him than Christmas day. He got to break in all his new toys!
